I play COD4 for many years and also tried other games, but COD4 gives me the most pleasure. Even some experience with my own COD4 on linux server for LAN parties
Nowadays I play on mp_crossfire on daily base and see all dudes and mates that share the same pasion

well @Dettie and me encountered a windows "feature" that limited the bandwidth after reinstall windows.

it helped to change the parameter to normal or disabled.
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal It's good to know that there is such a command. I leave it here for the archive.

ok so it randomly hit me that it might be the netlimiter that i use to limit my speed sometimes, 
havent used it for a week, last time i used it i limited my speed to 400kbps, then i closed it .
I thought that after closing the software the limit will be turned off,
i opened the software today and the limit was one , ,maybe some service was still running even after the software was closed.

That is unfortunate. I just saw the game is unavailable in several countries. Looks like there is no workaround; afaik using VPN is not allowed.
