    Already gave it a shot, but gotta say its not my cup of tea but maybe i'll give it another chance if timing with event fits ;)

     

    From my experience I have much more fun playing this with friends than solo. I was trying to play singleplayer in grid2 and autosport, but no luck. Multi however...

    Maybe this clip will convince someone to play this game :D

     

    If someone did not manage to get a grid, he can still buy it on g2a. People are reselling these keys for 0.5€ atm.

    One more thought came to my mind. With the executable file change your drivers could create an dedicated gpu profile, which cause your problems (one of the settings like some anti-aliasing method, which cod4 don't support at all or other features missing in cod4).

    Reinstall your drivers again, but remember to thoroughly purge current drivers by using 3rd party software like DDU and then install some previous version.

    1. Try to load cod4 with another profile. Maybe something has changed in your config.

    2. 17.8 patch modified iw3mp.exe itself. Maybe there is an problem. Check if your iw3mp has been modified. If yes, then try to replace it with original one

    3. If you have steam version, don't launch the game through steam. This causes problems with fps.

     

    I have no more ideas atm.

    Removing %localappdata%/cod4 isn't enough to delete cod4x. download cod4x from site, extract it to cod4 dir and run uninstall.bat.

    I'm not sure I understand your explanation. You created a program that multiplies the number "i" by consecutive natural numbers from 0 to b.

    When I type for variables i=2, b=10 I'm getting: 2*0=0,2*1=2, ... , 2*10=20. What we wanna do is to multiply 2 by successive numbers, omitting 2 multiples every time, so we get: 2*0=0, 2*3=6, 2*6=12, ... , 2*b.

    It's not working for you, because your config and profile in cod4 directory is no longer usefull. Cod4x18 write/read profiles in new location "%localappdata%/CallofDuty4MW" (here you find your actual config to modify). Also dunno why don't you just change dynent_active in game. Simply open the console(~) and type dynent_active 1.

     

    2. Not all objects will move, only these models with "dyn_model" classname, so only small models on the ground.

    very creative, what did you use to make the changes ? translate application ?

    I downloaded every version of cod4 and I took files contains language files.

     

    Decided to install english(mostly for overviews), but had some problems. Right after launching and opening main menu it was an error "Couldn't load image waypoint_bomb". I opened your bat file and decided to type "en", not "english" as before and after that everything installed and worked correctly.

    Thanks for the report. I was shuffling all files to find errors but I didn't find any. Can you try to repeat all steps and tell me result? There is no difference between typing en, eng, English etc.

    Hello everyone

    I created a simple tool, which changes cod4 language. The Pack contains: english, french, german(unavailable atm), italian, polish, russian, spanish and chinese.

    How to use it?:

    1. Extract LanguagePack folder to CoD4 root directory
    2. Launch install.bat  (inside LanguagePack)
    3. Type language you want to change
    4. Done

    You can change the language infinitely many times.

    If you want to restore your original files simple launch uninstall.bat

     

    I will create better installer in the future. I don't have time to do it at the moment :/

  17. Harddrive not showing

    Don't use this this tutorial. It shows how to erase full drive. C5 error shows one sector on your hdd is unstable (not broken) and require remapping. If your hdd is new, it should decide whether is it real bad sector and it will fix it automatically. Look at smart regularly to check for new ones and it will be fine.

    I have not had this .exe version issue. My game is fine. Please could someone explain the risk mentioned in other games? Thankyou.

     

    Your game may not have been updated, that's why your version is fine, but after reinstall it will download "broken" file. Activision after a month changed execuable version to official 1.8, but it still breaks everything, because you can't enter any 1.7/x1.8 server. Retail versions are still 1.7. Also it resets stats from old profile folder, which 1.7 uses (not a big deal since x1.8 saves it in %localappdata%). Some screenshots from Steam Version (yes, I broke cod :D):

    About risk: Activision patched all CoD series, where this vulnerability occured. The exploit we are talking is called RCE (Remote Code Execution). This particular RCE was dangerous for host. Host has to receive the data of every other player. The hacker could easily send malicious packets to host PC by overflowing some buffers, so you could easily send any malware you wanted to. In cod4 this problem hardly ever existed, because you would have to run a listen server and a hacker would need to have rcon to do any damage. However in cod4 exist another RCE, which is also dangerous. Look how codx18 automatically installs on your pc without any permission. Hopefully x1.8 patch all known vulnerabilities. However I know another leaks in modern cods, which are still not patched. If you want more details I added threads about it. You can also search google for it.

  19. [Tutorial] How to install Call of Duty 4 (1.7) - Steam Version (before april patch)

    Hello everyone

    In this tutorial I will show you how to download/fix Call of Duty 4 Steam Version. Most of you might not know, but in april Activision got the information about dangeruous RCE exploit existence in most modern CoDs, which allows to execute any code on your computer. However, the exploit does not even exist in cod4, but activision patched it anyway and in a rush they downgraded execuable file to 1.6(after official 1.8), which broke the game completely. More details at the end. Now, how to patch the patch :)

     

     

    Tutorial (Easy Fix):

    1. Install Call of Duty 4 on Steam. (Skip this step, if you have it installed)

    2. Download my iw3mp.exe from this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pfsryw1xx4gbz9/iw3mp.exe?dl=1 (This file comes from original steam database before patch).

    3. Open your Steam folder and go to:



    
steamapps -> common -> Call of Duty 4
    
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 4


    4. Replace the old iw3mp with new one.

    5. Done

     

     

    Tutorial (Hard Fix, If you are uncertain with viruses):

    1. Install Call of Duty 4 on Steam. (Skip this step, if you have it installed)

    2. Run Steam Console (I will show 3 methods how to run it)

    a) Press Win+R and type:

    c) Create Steam shortcut, Right Click -> Properties, and add "-console" parameter to the "Target" field.

    You should see new tab called "Console" on steam.

    Wait for Steam to download all content(823.84 MB). Don't restart your Client or you lose all progress! You won't see any progress bar, only complete message.

    4. After the download is done open your Steam folder and go to:

    5. You will find some cod4 files, but the only thing you want is iw3mp.exe.

    6. Copy the file to:

    and replace old one.

    7. Done. You can delete whole "content" folder, you won't need it anymore.

  24. Translations

    Hello NoName

     

    Recently, I was working on the implementation of the multi-language system. After a great battle with IW Engine I managed mod to work with more languages.

    Now, I'm looking for volounteers, who would like to translate our deathrun to their language. Most of sentences are easy to translate. However, I found also some of them difficult to keep the meaning, but maybe it's just because of polish grammar :D

    If someone is interested I will send the file to him. I have 152 short lanes to translate, so it's not much I think. It can be any language you want.

    Any help is welcome :)
