  1. Well the same thing applies to for instance other violations.

Rule #0: No Jump -> if I get killed by someone that jumps around once or twice I am not going to make a point out of it. By any means, probably the second after that, he gets struck by a GL or a nade, so no point in warning that dude.

However if he starts bunnyhopping around the map shooting everyone, and dodging all the bullets just because he jumps around like a fish on dry land, at that point I am going to say/ do something about it.

Rule #6 : Offensive players must play for the objective and support their team

We had while back trouble with the S&D server. People were camping while they had to either plant or defuse a bomb. But no knowledge about the game (no idea that he had to plant or defuse -> low skill) is no violation. Sure we note it, but I am not going to warn for that immediatly...

However if history keeps repeating itself, and the guy just sits and watches the timer go off for the 4th round in a row, at that point I am going to do something.

Sure it's hard to tell when to act, and how to act in certain situations. But there is a difference in low skill and unfairplay. We are here to help, not to scare people away by being triggerhappy with warns and bans (against low skilled players). So yeah, act against unfairplay, not against low skill.

Wait...What!? No jump means you can't jump around / kill people in some sort of jumpshot ?

  2. Thanks for your comments guys.

The XPS 13 is a bit too expensive for me and let's not talk about macbook because it's wayyyyy too expensive.

So there is an asus zenbook with i7-7500U,16 gb of ram, SSD  512 GB , M.2,  QHD+ screen 3200x1800 13" for 1300 euros.

Or a Dell inspiron 15 5000 with i7-8550U,16 gb of ram, SSD SATA 512 GB, 1920x1080 FULL HD 15.6" for  1100 euros. Better CPU, bigger screen and 2 in 1 but worse SSD and screen quality :( The reviews I've seen on internet agree that the screen is shit which ins't good for a laptop :/

  3. Hellu,

my old laptop isn't good enough anymore to keep up with my studies. 5 mins to boot and 10 minutes to run programs which should take less than a minute.

In a nutshell, I need a new laptop.

I do not need a dedicated graphics card but a good CPU (good i5 or i7) and minimum 8 gb of ram.(ssd if possible) I looked on mutiple sites but there are way too many and I do not know anything about laptops.

The main purpose is working for uni. I am programming mostly.

My budget is 1000+ euros (max 1300).

    Hope you can help me.

  4. Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-10-18-activision-patented-method-of-tuning-matchmaking-to-boost-microtransactions

Call of Duty publisher Activision has patented a method of matchmaking designed to increase a player's spend on microtransactions.

This system would deliberately pair you with someone who had a premium item to show off, in the hope you would see and then spend money on it yourself.

The patent was first spotted by Glixel, in a report which initially suggested the system could already be in use. Activision has now responded to reassure it has not implemented the method in any game.
"This was an exploratory patent filed in 2015 by an R&D team working independently from our game studios," an Activision spokesperson confirmed to Eurogamer. "It has not been implemented in-game."
Bungie community manager David "Deej" Dague confirmed that Destiny, also published by Activision, had not implemented it either.

Still, the patent is eye-opening in the detail it goes into.
"For instance, the microtransaction engine may match a more expert/marquee player with a junior player to encourage the junior player to make game-related purchases of items possessed/used by the marquee player," the patent reads. "A junior player may wish to emulate the marquee player by obtaining weapons or other items used by the marquee player.

"In a particular example, the junior player may wish to become an expert sniper in a game (e.g., as determined from the player profile). The microtransaction engine may match the junior player with a player that is a highly skilled sniper in the game. In this manner, the junior player may be encouraged to make game-related purchases such as a rifle or other item used by the marquee player."
The microtransaction-focused matchmaking could even be used to influence match outcomes to ensure players who paid money felt satisfied with their purchase.
"For example, if the player purchased a particular weapon, the microtransaction engine may match the player in a gameplay session in which the particular weapon is highly effective, giving the player an impression that the particular weapon was a good purchase. This may encourage the player to make future purchases to achieve similar gameplay results."
There's no suggestion Activision is planning to use this system in a future game. Regardless, players will likely now be on the lookout for any suggestion it has been implemented.

  5. I've managed to beat every boss I've met in video games...almost. There is only 1 who managed to beat me every time.......

And it was a stupid DOOR in God of War II. Do not laugh, I've tried hundred times and never opened it. It's sad because I loved this game but I never finished it :( (It's 100% true)

Apart from that, the hardest boss I've met was The Booted Cat in Shrek on ps2. It was horrible....

I never play games in hard mode and the new ones seem so easy compared to the old classic games.

  6. Really nice but as you said the cryptomining makes the GPU price ridiculous. It's not a good time to build a new pc. It's kinda sad to downgrade to a 1060 because of this bs.

I got a SSD a year ago and it's a life changer. I won't be able to go back to HDD only. For this kind of config, the SSD is a must in my opinion.
