    Hello nN !

After the birth of new CSGO servers and a brand new Team Fortress 2 server, why not continue ? I present to you ARMA III :

    http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/107410/header.jpg?t=1455791379

What is ARMA III ?? Well, as said on toptiertactics.com :

This isn’t your little brother’s shooter

It doesn’t matter if you come from Battlefield, Call of Duty, Crysis, Halo, Team Fortress 2, [insert shooter here], you’ll find Arma 3 to be a very different beast. The focus is on large maps, limited player counts (the average max is about 50), and realistic weapon handling. If you’re used to being able to go full auto at most distances and succeed, you’ll be in for a surprise when you jump into Arma. Every shot creates significant recoil, and you’ll find yourself aiming at the sky pretty quick if you can’t control your trigger finger.

More importantly, Arma is significantly slower paced than most FPS’s released today. You’ll spend much of your time moving from place to place, and comparatively little shooting at other players. Vehicles are essential not as weapons but as transportation, as running three kilometers isn’t nearly as fun when every hill might hold a sniper or, worse, nothing at all.
When combat does happen, it’s visceral, chaotic, and quick. Most combats end within a minute of first engagement, and the victor is (almost) always the player with more skill. In those cases where it isn’t, there’s one of two factors involved. 1. Alpha build hit detection/lag, and/or 2. A sniper.

Lastly, because of the large maps and time spent between battles, when you do come across another player/group of players, they’ll be a fair distance away. For this reason, they may or may not know you spotted them, and the engagement is on your terms. To control recoil, fire in single shots. You’ll want an ARCO/RCO scope, a dual 12x and red dot sight. Guns kill quickly, even at long range, so if you’ve got decent aim and can gauge the bullet drop, you should get at least one kill out of the deal. There are no hit markers in Arma, but there is a faint thunk sound signifying a successful hit. If you did manage the kill, a message will pop up saying “[Enemy Name] was killed by [Your Name].â€

Your first kill is very satisfying. Enjoy it.

So you see, its gameplay is very different than classic FPS games we play in nN, like Call of Duty 4 or CSGO ! It is more like a simulation-game rather than an action-game. It's like a realistic simulation of war !

    Steam Requirements :

OS :Windows Vista SP2 ou Windows 7 SP1  Processeur :Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz ou AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz  Mémoire :2 Go RAM  Graphismes :NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT ou AMD Radeon HD 3830 ou Intel HD Graphics 4000 avec 512 MB VRAM  DirectX® :10  Disque dur :15 Go d'espace libre  Son :compatible avec DirectX® RECOMMANDÉ : OS :Windows 7/8/10 (64bit)  Processeur :Intel Core i5-2300 ou AMD Phenom II X4 940 ou supérieur  Mémoire :4 Go RAM  Graphismes :NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 ou AMD Radeon HD 7750 avec 1 Go VRAM ou supérieur  DirectX® :11  Disque dur :25 Go d'espace libre (stockage SSD/Hybrid HDD/SSHD)  Son :compatible avec DirectX®

As this game wants to be like a realistic military operation, it involves long games, with basic tatic and cooperation.

    Gamemode types:

Within ArmA, you will find a wide variety of gamemodes:
COOP: Cooperative missions. These usually include one or two teams working together to defeat a common enemy. These do not feature players fighting against each other; rather, players work together to defeat AI of differing strengths. TDM/DM: Team Deathmatch or simply Deathmatch. A widely known game type in all types of game communities, this focuses around two or more teams of human players fighting against each other in different environments. Typically, but not always, this gamemode is limited to infantry only, or transport vehicles at best; however, vehicles in general are not restricted. Simple "Deathmatch" does not involve teamwork; instead, players are pitted on their own against each other, and may team up, but are not required to.  CTF: Capture the Flag. Pretty self-explanatory - two or more teams work against each other to capture a designated objective and bring it back to their base.  CTI: Capture the Island. An island-wide gamemode that involves, typically, two teams going head-to-head and attempting to capture the entire island - all 270km2 of it - using all possible assets available. These missions usually span 3-4 hours or more of gameplay and require intense team coordination. SC: Sector Control. Similar to CTI except that Sector Control usually only contains 1-5 "objectives" necessary to capture, typically spanning only about 4-16km2 of land. RPG: Role-Playing Game. A variant of ArmA that focuses more on roleplaying and taking emphasis off of the organized military combat. Usually focuses on civilian life on Altis, typically with or against police forces and rebels. ZEUS: Zeus Gamemaster Variants of other gamemodes. Zeus is a free DLC for everyone on ArmA III that allows someone, called "Zeus", to manipulate, spawn in, and direct units and the flow of combat in a realtime 3D editor. He may place down audio elements, change the time or weather, place down static objects, and create a variety of scenarios in-game. Typically, these are done by private communities.

This tool gives you the opportunity to create missions and scenarios that we can play on a server !! This will gives us the opportunity to play how we want and to create together the best nN war plan !

ARMA III Tactical Guide : where you can learn everything about the gameplay, tactics etc... http://ttp3.dslyecxi.com/index.php

So now, the one million dollar question, would who be interested in playing ARMA III on an nN server ??

It is very different than Call Of Duty or CSGO, so we would need to learn a lot how the game works, and how the level editor works; but after some preparations and playing time,we would be able to create a fun server (private or public) with nice nN events ! But I insist on the point that it is a game that requires a lot of patience, that it is way harder and less arcade than typical FPS games, and last.... if you die, you dont spawn again. You're dead until the end of the game, wchich can last 10 minutes up to... 4 hours !

If you have any questions, if you are interested into creating an ARMA III team, don't hesistate to say it in the comments !

Very cool game, in my opinion is maybe even better than the Battlefield series even though it is less known.

I do not play this game for the simple reason my PC will blow up when starting it up. I run 60FPS on dust2 CS:GO lowest settings (everything)
So when I win a DLore and buy a gamepc YES PLEASE, but untill than a gamepc is just not in my reach.

This does not stop me to vote yes, because in my opinion we should expand more to other games and if we can not host a server at least create a forum where people can meet to play or something like that. This is very good for CS:GO because people tend to play more Matchmaking than custom servers.

ArmA III can simulate large operations, and therefore the missions can put you in the shoes of a helicopter pilot or an infantry officer, a sniper, even a sapper . All these different roles obviously require very different skills. Multiplayer and coop missions however are based on a distribution of very specific roles: - the driver brings troops following the orders of squad leader, himself in connection with command- the reconnaissance units are support- riflemen rely on their information to progress. You need to master one role so that the team can rely on you. So we've compiled a list of the most common roles, so you can if you want to specialize in the mastery of certain skills in particular, in anticipation of your arrival in multiplayer : - Rifleman: Basic trooper. Contrary to what you might think, this is not a role that should be ashamed, or is less useful than others. Numerous players have made it their specialty and thus form the basis of any multiplayer game. The rifleman is a soldier trained in medium range combat techniques, short-range and CQB (Close Quarters Battle, very close combat).  - Grenadier: This soldier (close to rifleman) specializes in supporting his comrades with his grenade launcher built into his gun. He knows perfectly the trajectories of projectiles and is able to blow them where he wants to. - Machine Gunner : equipped with a heavy machine gun and several hundred bullets, the gun is a specialist in suppressive fire towards the enemies to stop them while his mates move forward. - Sniper : this soldier is particularly effective from long range, so it is usually invisible to enemies and is also able to do all the recon of a mission, ie he must observe the enemies, note their locations and transmit them to command, which informs the troops and can make decisions accordingly. When a sniper is present in a team (this is not always the case) it is mostly sent in support. He rarely shoots without having the order to. This role is very difficult because the ballistics is realistic in ARMA and it will therefore rely on hours of training before successfully hit a target from several hundred meters. - Demolisher: rarer than the other soldiers, the demolisher has perfect knowledge of explosives that allows him to accomplish his goals brilliantly while not endangering his team - for example by correctly estimating the blast zone of a mine or an explosive charge. - Diver: particularly rare, the diver is often only knowing infantryman move under water, which does not require special skills - Commander: good for team leadership or coordinating different squads.  - Pilot: he is a good helicopter pilot Here are some videos to explain how Arma III works, and multliplayer gameplay :   ----------

So you see, its gameplay is very different than classic FPS games we play in nN, like Call of Duty 4 or CSGO ! It is more like a simulation-game rather than an action-game. It's like a realistic simulation of war !

Enjoy it.

You can also suggest things related to the server config! (Enable Halloween related cosmetics, enable sprays, change map rotation, etc...)

    Hello nN,

I played on a few S&D servers and they proposed this plugin for B3 : http://www.xlrstats.com/

It can keep track of your statistics on the server, such as :
    - Number of Kills, deaths, assists
    - Ratio
    - Skill

And for server admins, they can access more data.

What do you think, and is it possible to implement this in our server structure ?

  25. Mino liked a post in a topic by Puddingsbane in For the fisrt time ever Tekken is comming to PC!
PC is becoming an ever-more attractive gaming platform for fighting games and Japanese game developers, and where those two overlap lurks Bandai Namco. A Bandai survey is reportedly gauging interest in a PC version of Tekken 7. If this happens it will be a first Tekken game ever made for the all-mighty PC race (ignoring the fact that Street Fighter X Tekken exists, burn it with fire).

This is still a whisper on the internet but as Bandai states, they are doing stuff to make this happen at the expense of all out war between console users and PC users ofc (jokes aside) that is a great news for you PC players out there. I'm excited as hell because of that too, Tekken was a first game I played on the PS1 console and it dragged me in it's gameplay, and it was the first game that made you kick someones teeth in because of their over use of Gon or Eddie (aaaah memories).

So people, fingers crossed that Bandai nails this one.
