    I have it too, but I don't understand your last con, I have a big hand and it works perfectly for me.But I use all the weights, if not it is less comfortable.

     

    Beast Mouse ! The only thing I don't like is the cable, too fragile for me.

    I don't think i get it what are you trying to say. They changed it to higher frequency RAM or?

     

    No. I took the 1300Mhz from a french website which was apparently wrong.Substanz found the real frequency, 2133Mhz.

    wow what a beast. Totally worst of 1800. But a question, u prefer laptops than desktops?

     

    I prefer laptops because I study in Lyon but I come back to my parents twice a month so I need a laptop. I also use it for my studies (with CAD softwaves like Solid Edge, and formal calculus like Maple). And I travel a lot, and I want my PC :)

     

    The equivalent config for a desktop computer is at least 40% cheaper.

    Hello there nN,

    My PC is old and dying. It is 4 years old, not so old you may think, but I use it every day on high stress (gaming). And it is a "multimedia" kind of PC, not designed to evacuate heat.

    As I play everyday, heat can go as high as 110°C on CPU, and 70°C on GPU. Sometimes, it even reaches 120°C CPU, then the emergency stop occurs.

    I also accidently damaged it : it fell once (PC did not like it, DVD player don't work since then) on macadam. I tried to remove the dust, but the body is distorded due to the fell, and it's impossible to open it.

     

    So now, when I play a game it works fine for 20 min, then it lags very much due to heat. The only games that are playable are COD4 and Football Manager 16.
    And COD has a lot of problems too : with yitch3 config, I have 125 fps, but after 20 min playing ? 30 fps...

     

    I remember with COD4 a year ago, it was all on ultra and I had 60 fps. Now on ultra I have 10/15 fps...

     

     

    It is time to change ! I had luck to discover a "vente flash fnac", which is a short sale from the Fnac, a french high tech retail store.

    I will receive in 2 weeks time an ASUS ROG G752VY-GC118T (for 1800€ instead of 2200€) :

  11. Hard Drive just died :(

    Sad day for my PC...I have a laptop with 2 internal hard drives : one SSD for OS+programs and one HDD for games+movies/series+photos.And just before going on vacation, the HDD died (loud clicks and impossible to read). Which means I lost all my games, my gaming data (except for Steam Cloud), my photos, my school documents... Movies arent' any problem, I can download them again.But now I mourn for my hard drive... I put it in the freezer (saw that on the web), and I will try tomorrow morning to save maximum of data.

     

    Yes I know what you're thinking : why didnt you do a save on an external hard drive ? Well, I do it every 6 months. Last time I did it was for Chrismas vacations, and I planed to do it in... 2 weeks from now.Yes it sucks. Now I've learned my lesson, I will do saves more frequent, and save my school documents (which the worst loss with personnal photos) on cloud. I also plan to wait a few years when I'll work and earn some money to pay a shop to extract the data.Now i'm going on vacations, I will be able to play COD and FM16 (as I dwl them tonight), but I only have 128 gb SSD, so my options are limited.I don't plan to buy another HDD, as I will work this summer to buy a brand new computer (mine is old and dying anyway). So I probably won't play any other games other than COD4 or FM16 before that time.

  15. 24H de l'INSA Festival (Lyon, France)

    Hey there nN !!

     

    2 weeks ago, I was organizing with more than 150 mates the largest festival only made by students in France !!

    It is directly on my school campus, in Lyon.

     

    This festival gathers more than 30.000 people during the whole weekend (may 13th-14th-15th). It is composed of 3 main activities :

     

    - Sports : with the famous (well, in the region) 24-hour bike endurance race (single or teams). But also a 24-hour race on foot and a triathlon. (~400 contestants)

     

    - Activities during the day (saturday and sunday) : open for families and kids; with a large range of activities such as Extreme jump, retro arcade games, activities for kids. (~5.000 persons per day)

    - Concerts by night : the only part that is not free for the public, but you have to pay a ridiculous amount : 15€ for the whole weekend (10.000 persons per night)

     

    The concert part is the best, with a lot of famous groups over the years, mostly french but not only : Skip The Use, Shaka Ponk, Overwerk, The Subways, Uppermost...

     

    This year, we had a lot of wonderful artists ! Here are all of them : https://www.24heures.org/concerts/

    The main theme is electro, precisely french touch/french house. The most famous this year are :

     

    FRIDAY :

    - DANGER (electro, French Touch)

  17. Do you love RTS games?

    I love RTS games, and also simulation games.

     

    I played enourmous amounts of time on Cossacks !! European Wars, American Conquest, and Cossacks II : Napoleonic Wars

    Now I mostly play Civilization V.

     

    I played also  a lot the Warhammer 40k Dawn of War Series : Dark Crusade and SOulstrom, and DOW II

     

    I always loved difficulty in these games. The most interesting for strategic purposes is for me Cossacks II : its gameplay is hard to apprehend, but it is very smart, and in multiplayer againt another hooman, it is splendid !

     

    On Simulation games, I played hours on Sim City 3000, Sim City 4. Now I play a lot on Game Dev Tycoon, a fantastic game you should discover !

  24. Creating an nN|Army in ARMA III ?

    This does not stop me to vote yes, because in my opinion we should expand more to other games and if we can not host a server at least create a forum where people can meet to play or something like that. This is very good for CS:GO because people tend to play more Matchmaking than custom servers.

     

    In ARMA III, it would also be a good idea, because most clan servers are populated with mature players while open public servers are populated by people from other FPS games that dont understand the gameplay and want to play it like COD or Battlefield. On forums, i see reports of cheaters and noobs on these servers.

    ArmA III can simulate large operations, and therefore the missions can put you in the shoes of a helicopter pilot or an infantry officer, a sniper, even a sapper . All these different roles obviously require very different skills. Multiplayer and coop missions however are based on a distribution of very specific roles:
     
    - the driver brings troops following the orders of squad leader, himself in connection with command
    - the reconnaissance units are support
    - riflemen rely on their information to progress.
     
    You need to master one role so that the team can rely on you. So we've compiled a list of the most common roles, so you can if you want to specialize in the mastery of certain skills in particular, in anticipation of your arrival in multiplayer :
     
    - Rifleman: Basic trooper. Contrary to what you might think, this is not a role that should be ashamed, or is less useful than others. Numerous players have made it their specialty and thus form the basis of any multiplayer game. The rifleman is a soldier trained in medium range combat techniques, short-range and CQB (Close Quarters Battle, very close combat). 
     
    - Grenadier: This soldier (close to rifleman) specializes in supporting his comrades with his grenade launcher built into his gun. He knows perfectly the trajectories of projectiles and is able to blow them where he wants to.
     
    - Machine Gunner : equipped with a heavy machine gun and several hundred bullets, the gun is a specialist in suppressive fire towards the enemies to stop them while his mates move forward.
     
    - Sniper : this soldier is particularly effective from long range, so it is usually invisible to enemies and is also able to do all the recon of a mission, ie he must observe the enemies, note their locations and transmit them to command, which informs the troops and can make decisions accordingly. When a sniper is present in a team (this is not always the case) it is mostly sent in support. He rarely shoots without having the order to. This role is very difficult because the ballistics is realistic in ARMA and it will therefore rely on hours of training before successfully hit a target from several hundred meters.
     
    - Demolisher: rarer than the other soldiers, the demolisher has perfect knowledge of explosives that allows him to accomplish his goals brilliantly while not endangering his team - for example by correctly estimating the blast zone of a mine or an explosive charge.
     
    - Diver: particularly rare, the diver is often only knowing infantryman move under water, which does not require special skills
     
    - Commander: good for team leadership or coordinating different squads. 
     
    - Pilot: he is a good helicopter pilot
