  1. Pc aswell ofcBudget will be around 300 i guess

Since you plan to use it as a pc monitor too then I'd suggest either working your way with adapters as Cap said or just keeping your old screen and having a dual monitor setup. I think it's better to have a good monitor for all the pc games you play and will play rather than focusing on few gc games.

Apart from that, what resolution are you interested in? How many inches should it be? Would a higher hertz/higher res than 1080p monitor appeal to you? 300 euros can get you a very nice monitor.

  2. Well, you should also keep in mind that a TV will be probably worse than a monitor as it has low hertz. If you're alright with that, do go ahead. Also as Cap said, you need to decide what is your budget beforehand. That way we can all give you some "real" recommendations (by real, I mean within your budget).

Maybe you could purchase a nice PC monitor and keep the old one as a 2nd monitor. You could use the new one for everything else and the old one for the GC? Unless of course you plan to use the new device for the GC.

  3. Welcome to the family! Unfortunately for you, you got the worst guy to guide you!Just kidding haha, i'll message you soon about some basic guidelines and tell you what you need to know. :) I have a football game in a bit so i'll wait until I have enough time so that I can make sure I don't rush it and forget something. :)WRAIOS!!!

Thank you for the welcome. :)

Haha, I'll be waiting for that message then! Oh and hope that match of yours went well. :P

  4. What driver version are you currently using? Over the years nVidia has released some faulty drivers for their products. Some time ago, I remember there were many cases of people having their gpu clock speeds being locked unreasonably high whether the computer was under load or sitting idle. Another time, I recall there was a similar issue that affected many owners of high hertz monitors. Have you ruled out a faulty driver being the root cause of your issues? Have you rolled back your driver a couple versions down and seeing how your card behaves then?

I recommend checking the r/nvidia subreddit before updating your driver as the people over there post benchmarks of every driver shortly after its release where they see how well it fares compared to other versions, also announcing issues they discover while testing.

Furthermore, do you make a clean install of the updated driver? Deleting the previous one(s) before installing the new? It sounds like this could might be a conflict between old and new driver(even if you do press "Clean install" on GeForce Experience, it still doesn't delete the old version completely). I suggest using this tool and see if there's indeed leftovers from past driver versions. Even if this isn't the cause of all this, having a clean system from old drivers will only benefit you anyway.

Moving aside from the software part, have you thought about having your gpu checked in case it's a faulty piece of hardware? If it turns out like this and your warranty for it is still active, maybe you can have it be RMA'd and receive a replacement/refund for your purchase.

Let us know how it goes and good luck mate. Hope you get to resolve your issue. :)

  7. Method 1: I use Windows 10. That was actually a thing at win7, unfortunately now it changes outputs automatically.

Method 2 actually sounds great! I'll give it a shot. Thanks mate

Method 2 makes sony vegas crash :c

If you are able to dictate what device you want each app to use (through the app's settings, addons etc), you can open Realtek HD Audio Manager and click the little cog on the upper right corner and go to settings. Make sure to tick this and then change the device you want the apps to use accordingly.

Just saw your edit, I'm glad you sorted it out. Cheers!

  8. There are a couple ways to split the audio to different devices on windows. I'll list them and you can hopefully pick the one that works for you.

    First Method

    • Have your headset and speakers connected.
    • In windows playback devices, make sure your headset is the default device.
    • Open Vegas and start playing your tracks. (Vegas will stream via your headset obviously.)
    • Go to windows playback devices and make your speakers the default devices this time.
    • Open your Spotify/browser/app you'll use to stream your music from and start streaming your music (It'll playback through the speakers since that's the default device.)

Make sure not to close Vegas or the other app because you'll have to re do the entire process again.

    Second Method

If you don't want to go through the hassle of doing the above you can use a software for this kind of thing like this one which I randomly found a while back while scrolling through my Reddit feed. It is pretty reliable but can be a bit buggy sometimes. Still, the most reliable piece of software I've found for this purpose which is also free.

Hoping one of these methods works for you! If not, I'll be glad to assist you further. ^^

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Truth be told, I actually did spend a good amount of time on it. :P

About the application, is it really alright if I go for it? I'm concerned it won't seem "fair" to other members as I don't really meet all the requirements.

Welcome aboard man, from one metalhead to another :).

Excellent introduction as well and I wish you all the luck in applying when you do.

Many thanks mate! It's always great to meet people that share the same taste in music. Cheers!

  11. Greetings!

Some of you might know me already or remember me. For those that don't, my name is Yiannis and I come from Greece. I've been a long time CoD4 player and used to play competitively (some minor LANs/Scrims etc, nothing impressive tbh) but that's behind me and nowadays I just play some pubs to have a good time alone or with friends.

I'm an avid fan of video games and pc gaming has always been a hobby of mine along with video editing. So besides CoD4 there are a few other games I enjoy spending time on like The Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft (just started this one), Hearthstone, Overwatch, CS:GO and Black Ops II.

Also, I enjoy listening to some music. The genre I listen to almost exclusively is metal and some of my favorite bands are; Lorna Shore, Caliban, Thy Art Is Murders, Oceano, Aversions Crown, though I am open to music from other genres as well.

Other activities I like doing on my free time include reading books from classic authors such as Dickens, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Hugo and others as well as watching some movies/series when I discover one I feel like I'll enjoy.

Going back to CoD4, I've been playing on nN's killhouse server mainly for a good while now. Lately though, I catch myself playing more and more on your servers. For that reason as well as others, I've been getting interested in your community so I've been seriously considering applying for membership. However, I know that I don't really meet the requirements you guys have set so I decided to respect that and wait a bit until I at least have the forum presence/post count to show for myself. Therefore, I thought I'll start with a little introduction about me and in time move on with my application for membership.

I think I'll end this introduction here though as I've included everything I'd like. If you would like to know something about me that I haven't mentioned, please don't hesitate to leave a comment or send me a pm! I hope to meet you all and play some rounds/games together sometimes. Cheers!
