Eyewitnesses have said roughly nine or ten girls were playing outside on an estate when the mask-wearing creeps closed in. The youngsters were celebrating a birthday in Rathfarnham, Dublin, before their terrifying ordeal. An eyewitness told the Irish Sun: “There was a party for one of the girls in her estate and they were playing on the green just a few yards across from her home. “There was a gang of maybe nine or ten girls messing around and suddenly they started running away and shouting. “One of the other parents said a group of older teenagers or students arrived over dressed up as clowns and began chasing them. Some of the younger kids were absolutely terrified.†The witness added: “They ran over in the direction of the parents and the clowns dispersed.†The girls have been targeted in a craze sweeping the globe where people dressed up as clowns are scaring people in public places or even outside their own homes. Irish cops were alerted after students at a Dublin school were confronted by three “creepy clowns†with fake chainsaws last week. The trio — who had leaflets about a Halloween horror event — were spotted on the grounds of Newpark School in Blackrock.
