Installing cod2 with 1.3 patch and fix single player

Recommended Posts

Now that substanz has created a COD2 server, it would be great if we played it all together .

Below you will find a guide to install all necessary files.

--- Install cod2 from dvd / image (standard version is 1.0)

---- As most servers run with version 1.3, u need to upgrade it

Download this file and run it, it will automatic update from 1.2 to 1.3 with a few clicks

http://www.callofdutyview.net/files/patches/cod2-v1.3.zip

---- optional update of PunkBuster (when u get kicked on servers who has punkbuster enabled)

Download this rar

http://www.currahees.net/downloads/pb/cod2_pb_windows.rar

Open it, copy everything from this folder to C:Program Files (x86)ActivisionCall of Duty 2PB folder
overwrite every file and try connecting again

--- Single player Fix  *** this can't be played without DVD, version 1.2 and 1.3 didn't even started up here.

The fix =  Download this file from gamecopyworld

http://www.gamecopyworld.eu/games/pc_call_of_duty_2.shtml#Call of Duty 2 v1.3 %5BENGLISH%5D No-CD/Fixed EXE

Call of Duty 2 v1.3 [ENGLISH] No-CD/Fixed EXE

open it, replace the CoD2SP_s.exe from dev-cd23 folder to the installation folder C:Program Files (x86)ActivisionCall of Duty 2, overwrite the old file in this folder.

--- another problem I've occurred is when i changed the resolution (standard is 640*480 ) the game crashes ...
here i fixed that with turning of the option  ( Anti Aliasing  set to OFF (standard it's on 4x)
After this i could save my new settings and it didn't crashed the game anymore.

*** Single player should work again now ***

--- next is run the game, make a game profile, edit the controls and connect to our servers ---

*** Tested by me on  Windows 7 x64 ***

Have fun everyone
