The sequel of a highly acclaimed survival game is soon to be released. The original Frostpunk was a blast, thanks to its unique law tree and impressive ambiance. However, 11 bit studious didn't stop there, as their next opus will be a lot more ambitious and immersive.
Frostpunk 2 setting
The story takes place 30 years after the first game's events, which is already surprising as it seemed almost impossible to stay alive in severe weather conditions. But time has passed, and your little settlement has grown into a megapolis with several specific districts. As a leader of your colony, you'll have to construct several city segments with different purposes (for example, industrial or scientific) to make sure that your city will stand.
Frostpunk 2 new features
Although we don't know much about gameplay yet, we can expect many more conflicts in the growing society. In Frostpunk 2 there will be several factions that we must keep satisfied which, as you can imagine, will not be an easy task. Having so many people in your city, you will have to deal with different consequences from each law enforcement, as your community will have split opinions about your actions. Certainly, 11 bit studios take their ambitions to another level, making you contemplate every harsh decision you make throughout the game.
Another remarkable feature is a shift from coal to oil as a resource that will keep your generator up and burning. For now, it's not clear how it will make the difference in terms of gameplay, but the coal used to be the most important source of power, so the change will not go unnoticed.
Frostpunk 2 release date and price
Frostpunk 2 is set to be released somewhere in 2024, with more details to come in the near future. The game is also not available for pre-orders for now, even though some stores already have a few offers for a cd key.
You've come this far to save your city. But will you manage to save the humaneness in your people? We will find out soon.

It's a 1 year anniversary of the game Frostpunk from the team who created This War of Mine and other less popular titles earlier. Recently I hit over 200 hours of gameplay, which, I thought, wasn't possible since many players complained on the lack of content. However, 11 bit studios continued to work on this game after release, updating it with more interesting features.
So, what is it about?
Frostpunk is a good mix between city builder, survival and strategy game with beautiful graphics and charming music. You're playing as leader of small city which has to survive through the storms in conditions of gradually decreasing temperature.
All of your choices will have consequences which in summary affect 2 important factors of your citizens: hope and discontent. Once hope goes low or discontent becomes extremely high, your people will banish you from the city. But there is no way around it: during your rule you'll have to sign laws and make significant decision which will often lead to more difficult choices.
For example, if you're in lack of workers, you can put kids to work but your people won't support such decision and will try to fight against it. Or, if you don't have enough coal to provide the warmth in houses, you can force people to work 24 hours in a row, but it will dramatically increase discontent and may cause serious injuries.
What is the content of this game?
There are 4 scenarios; you have to develop a good strategy to finish each one, especially on the highest difficulty.
There are also 2 endless modes: endurance (for survivors) and serenity (for builders); you can customize difficulty and even select random hazards to make it more challenging.
Each scenario can be finished in 2-3 hours, depending on the chosen difficulty. There are 5 of them in total: easy, medium, hard, survivor and extreme. The survivor difficulty is pretty hard and doesn't let you make even a little mistake, so you have to replay the scenario few times before starting it to develop a good strategy and anticipate the possible consequences.
Frostpunk is a pretty challenging and gorgeous game with interesting concept. I would recommend it to anyone who likes survival or city building games. It's now at 40% off on steam, contains trading cards and achievements.

New Year just began, and of course we are excited for many upcoming games. Horror fans get a special vibe since three noteworthy remakes will be released one after the other.
Dead Space
The original game still stands the ground to this day. We can say without a shadow of doubt that it has aged well and can easily compete with many modern horrors. The remake will be even more impressive thanks to enhanced graphics and several gameplay adjustments, such as flying in zero-gravity setting. More than that, Isaac Clarke will be fully voiced to make the game even more immersive.
Despite of numerous visual changes, Dead Space Remake will remain true to its original version. Redesigned locations and assets will improve the quality of the environment to make it even more stunning, while the story will be exactly as we remember it.
Dead Space Remake will launch on January 27th, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. All people who pre-order it on Steam will also receive a classic Dead Space 2 for free!
Resident Evil 4
Unlike previous title, the original Resident Evil 4 isn't graphically outstanding even with HD textures but it is still considered one of the best survival horror games out there. Many fans of the iconic saga have been waiting for this remake even before it was in the works, especially after Capcom succesfully remade the second opus. This installment is promising to be on top of our expectations, too.
While the environment remains familiar, it was completely revisioned on most parts of the game. The whole atmosphere will become more tense, creating an absolutely spine-chilling experience for new players and long-time fans. Resident Evil 4 will also feature multiple gameplay tweaks, including new inventory & crafting menu and improved combat.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24th, 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5.
Silent Hill 2
This remake should breathe new life into the whole franchise as we haven't seen any new Silent Hill game for a very long time. It is still in early stage of development, but we can expect a lot of improvements, given the fact that original game came out over 20 years ago. After watching the trailer, we can already notice that the town became more detailed, even though its larger part is covered by smoke. Many technical aspects will also be ameliorated, although we don't know much about gameplay changes yet.
The upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake will be developed by Bloober Team, the studio behind Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, Observer and The Medium. The team has already proved their strength in creating horror games, so we can be assured of the quality of their project.
Silent Hill 2 Remake doesn't have a release date yet, however it's confirmed to be a Playstation 5 exclusive for a year after the launch, and later must also be available on PC. The series will be supplemented with a new title - Silent Hill Ascension, so the wait might not be as long as we imagine.
