Games are and were complex from the start. I can remember browsing Mario source which was bigger than entire MS-DOS system at that time and made up of same matrices which they calling triangle here(just in 3d spread).

Someone quote "Light is not invented by the continues improvement of candles" thus if we want to invent the real world then there is a desperate need of new rendering and mixing technology which shouldn't depend purely on matrix and math.

Gaming industry is growing fast and it makes sense that companies are making a big push to get a piece of the pie before anyone else, therefore this will be just a another complex candle capable of rendering at some scale, cool.
