MasterYI 566
Hey there guys! As some of you already know, I've been AFK for a loooong time now. The reason for this is that I didn't have a PC, and buying gaming hardware here in Colombia (As in any other Latin American country) is really hard. Just to place things into perspective, a mid tier gaming PC is around USD$1000. Minimum wage here is around USD$250 a month. Also, bear in mind that we need to pay for import fees and nationalization taxes, therefore, a part that is sold at USD$300 at the US, actually costs around USD$400 to the end buyer, therefore, buying a mid tier USD$1000 could actually be worth around USD$1200 for us. So, a few months ago (around November last year) I got a nice job, working as a training coach for Lyft customer care support. Then, on April, I was promoted to Operations supervisor, now earning around USD$670 a month. However, it was still not enough for that particular task (Getting a new PC), so, I had the idea of saving a bit of money, and start trading on the US Stock Market. And guess what! It went good! In just a few weeks I managed to get a USD$1230 profit, and hence, I just played it safe and withdraw all the money to start building my new gaming rig. So, I started ordering the pieces and the last one (GPU) arrived on Friday last week. Here are the specs and the prices. Keep in mind that the prices are not retailer, but with shipment and import taxes/fees included CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6GHz up to 4.2GHz USD$264.8GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 @1950MHz 6 GB GDDR6 @7000MHz USD$487.24RAM: 16 GB DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3000MHz with XMP enabled USD$100.63Motherboard: ASRock B450M Pro-4 USD$129.75SSD: HP S700 250GB USD$63.55PSU: EVGA White 80+ 600W USD$74.94Case: Segotep Winder X3 (Just a generic Chinese case with decent cable management that allows me 360MM Water cooling down the road and also with a side panel, acrylic, but it has one :p) USD$50.31Fans: 4 (2 red on the front, and 2 green on the top) GameMax GMX-RF12-R (Again, just a generic 120M fan with RGB and around 40CFM each, which also allows me to dizzy chain them) USD$9.27 each x 4 = USD$37.07 A fun fact, when under load, it generates so much ionized air inside the case, that I was able to stick some paper towels to the side panel due to static. Total = USD$1208.29 Here are some pictures and videos of the finished build! Parts: Build: Benchmarks+Gameplay: - GTA V: All setting set to the maximum - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare gameplay (New PC didn't make me better, I still suck big time) - Cinebench R20 - Cinebench R15 * Multi CPU * Single Core * OpenGL - Furmark - Heaven - 3DMark Time Spy - Fun fact!: Blitz, Runny, Roohansama and 7 others like this Quote No fancy image here. MasterYI 566
Wanted to spend a few more bucks that the ones I had initially on my budget to get something that would last at least 3 years Quote No fancy image here. Don't ask why!
MasterYI 566
Lol, I've been trying out Fallout 4, it turns out that this GPU is "Too new" or "Too overpowered" and the game won't recognize it and set the settings to minimum. Anyone has a way around this? Actually the issue is not that it lowers the graphics, as I can set them up again, the issue is that it is enabling VSYNC at half instead of full, therefore, I'm getting locked at 30 FPS. Any way of turning VSYNC Off or setting it to full to get 60 FPS? It's the Steam version BTW, already reinstalled, also check integrity after reinstall Quote No fancy image here. Don't ask why! Blitz 53
that was really an unexpected move by Nvidia. 2000 series has most of its sales last six months so definitely a lot many people are frustrated. After taxed listings the margin will get better but will stays bad as it looks ;)
MasterYI 566
I bought it for $487, so I think I will be able to sell it for around 400 and then get a 3070. However, I actually don't see it as too much of a trouble as it will bottleneck my cpu. Besides, this system has run everything I've thrown at it @ultra settings so far.
