About two years ago I was looking into Prey before its release and a couple of months later was able to discover this game. After spending some hours on exploring the space station I would like to share my impressions (without spoilers). Have you already played the Prey or maybe you would like to try it in the future? The game takes place on the space station called Talos I, and you’re playing as Morgan, male or female character. Talos looks like five-star hotel but surely, it’s not as it seems: the station has been flooded with aliens, and you need to find the way to survive. Level design is gorgeous; you can spend hours just discovering the station. More than that, you’re able to go into space and look on the Talos I outside. Among all of the features I was mostly impressed by the skill tree, when after finishing all objectives I still had a lot of powers to unlock. And all special abilities offer you different ways to complete the mission. During the journey you can encounter different types of enemies, and I must say that they are beautiful (even if dangerous). Mimics, the easiest and the smallest aliens, can disguise themselves as a chair or another object to jump on you as soon as you enter the room. One of the most interesting things to do for me was recycling and crafting items. You can basically recycle items you don’t need in order to get more ammo, medics or new weapons, which I found to be pretty useful feature. An intriguing story holds on suspense throughout the game. Soundtrack and voice acting perfectly complement the atmosphere and make the game even more exciting.
Prey: Mooncrash
This ambitious DLC brings a lot more features into Prey. It’s not just a pack with additional missions; it’s completely new experience in terms of this game. Expansion offers rogue-lite elements alongside with new weapons, abilities, items, features and storyline. You play as 5 different characters in a simulation with the main objective to escape the station located on the Moon, which has been overrun by enemies. Each time you die you lose all your inventory and progression, but not your skill tree. Like this you can progress, unlock special powers and discover the map before your final run when you save all of the characters in a single run without deaths. Enemies and resources are changing each time you reset the simulation, what makes it more interesting to replay over and over again. More than that, some conditions can also change. For example, a room which was easy to pass is now suddenly on fire and you need to find a way to stop it. Or the power is down and you have to fix it in order to enter the location. It makes the game more challenging and interesting at the same time.
Prey: Typhon Hunter
Unlike Mooncrash, this expansion didn’t meet the expected feedback due to wrong decisions. This multiplayer prop hunt mode was released as a free expansion available for owners of the DLC mentioned above. The absence of important options, like mute microphone or bind keys, made the game completely unplayable soon after launch. Even if the main idea was interesting and presentation was good, almost nobody plays this mode now. Hopefully, developers will fix those issues and players will be able to appreciate this expansion more. The Rebellion prepared an update on Sniper Elite franchise and it will be revealed today at 5 p.m. UTC+0.
A couple of months ago there have been rumors about Sniper Elite V2 Remastered coming out in 2019, and recently the trailer was "accidentally leaked" (like it happens often in gaming industry).
At the first sight, it doesn't look like a remastered version but it's more likely to be true. On twitter Rebellion didn't deny the fact of its existence:
