new laptop locked fps

Recommended Posts

hey folks,

bought a new absolute beast laptop that should be running cod4 smooth asf.

but when i joined a server the fps is somehow locked at 30 or 60 even if i set it to 125.

no idea what the issue might be.

any idea? thx

Seconding what Scrappy said. When you get inexplicable vsync-like issues it's always one of the three: power mode, win10 shenanigans, gpu driver options.

the issue is that nvidia panel is in greek and i cant find v sync option

This is hella strange. Yesterday i turned v sync off in nvidea panel and it worked fine. Today again the fps was locked at 30 even if v sync is off in the panel.

Any ideas?

Nvidia control panel sounds bugged to me

Uninstall drivers and reinstall the drivers

Might fix the problem

when laptop is charging everything works fine when i unplug it instantly fps drops and locks to 60 or 30

rly weird imo

any idea?

i think thats not weird at all.

your laptop might go into any power efficient mode every time when its not charging?

have u checked nvidia control panel power settings?

As far as I know, It's done so your battery doesn't get damaged. I recommend you play on your laptop when it's plugged in, and avoid playing when it's not. If you insist, I'm sure there is an option somewhere to turn the fps cap off, but it may not be beneficial for your laptop in the long run.

so cant you just play with laptop plugged in and battery removed so it doesn't damage the battery ?
