How did it start?

Where do I start?

Gameboy Advance. Early 2000's. The Pokemon franchise had peaked in popularity. It all started with my copy of Blue that I bought for 50p. I was completely immersed in the Pokemon world, travelling the Kanto region. But the best thing was that all of the other kids on my street were playing too! All of us together outside, in the gardens & riding bicycles too. It was wonderful. A healthy balance between our 8 bit screens and the fresh air exploring our home town! (Showing my age now lol) Pokemon still makes me smile. Those were some of my most cherished moments.

Shortly afterwards, I played the NFS Underground Series, including 2005's Most Wanted. Not forgetting Rockstars excellent Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix. This sparked my interest in Japanese cars, which I'm still passionate about to this day.

Well, this brings me onto FPS games. I still had a Nintendo 64 from the Pokemon days. And in 2009 I was a big James
Bond 007 Fan. So I fired up my Goldeneye cartridge. Classic FPS. Realistic maps from the film, solid game
engine. Multiplayer fun. I was very impressed by what the developer RARE had created. Again, I still follow Goldeneye to this day.

As of recent times, I started playing CoD4 in 2010. I thought the campaign was violent and scary! (Younger me) But I enjoyed the story it told. Best of all, the movement, maps and gameplay. Just wow. It flows so smoothly and it's such a simple game. Even now, I can't stop playing. It's amazing. All of the fun on different servers, mods and teams I've played with. So here I am with everyone today!

Finally, gaming is something which is often described as anti social etc has made me so many new friends! Not forgetting making friendships stronger, trying out new things together, as well as re uniting old friends of mine. We created so many memories both on a screen and in reality! This is a very good topic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading all your stories! Thank you all!

I see many liked racing games in their youth, cool.

Also, forgot to mention this little gem.

Had great times with it and not long ago, I picked up some ported entries of the franchise on Steam for the nostalgia. Fun times.

It all started with a gameboy and then playing Zelda Ocarina of Time with my dad and my brother < This part of my childhood are the memories I treasure the most, my brother, my dad and me, just playing and not caring about anything else. I actually got my first tattoo recently, and it is a triforce, but it doesnt make reference to the game itself. Each fragment of the triforce represents the 3 of us playing Zelda and spending our best moments together. Since then I can't stop playing. After that I got my first computer, then a PS1, then a PS2, a nintendo WII, then a new computer (Here I started playing COD4, 2008), then I got an xbox 360, then another computer (started playing league of legends), then I bought a Gamecube from a dude who didn't knew what he had hahaha, then a new computer (and got introduced by a friend to one of my favorite games ever created. Yes, obviously I'm talking about Metro, also my brother introduced me to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series, but I have seen the game before and I told myself I had to play it someday and I did when I got the money to get a new computer and 21$ to buy the complete S.T.A.L.K.E.R. collection), and now here i am, trying to get the money to get another computer :v, mostly to play Metro Exodus.

Before we bought our first PC it all started with commodore 64 and games like Pac Man, Boulder Dash, Agent USA, Montazuma's Revenge, Batman, Bubble Bobble, Rampage, Ultima, Golden Axe and many more. First PC came and I experienced games at a whole new level ranging from Doom/2, Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Earthworm Jim, Rayman, Warcraft 2, Hexen, Red Alert 1 and C&C, Road Rash, Tiberium Sun, Lemmings, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Spider Man 1, Future Cop, Age of Empires, Diablo, Carmaggedon, Dungeon Keeper 1/2, Blood, HoMM 2, Blade Runner, Claw, Fallout, Blood Omen Legacy Of Kain.......I've literally stumbled upon one of my old childhood notebooks a few days ago where I kept track of all the games progress, secrets, cheat codes, games i played, games i had in my collection and so on. These are some of the games from that notebook, talking about a trip down memory lane.
