Well, you need to give us more details for accurate suggestions.

What is the system going to be used primarily for? Gaming? Maybe you edit/design things? Maybe both? Depending on the answers to the above questions the suggestions you'll receive will change. If you're a designer/editor investing in a lot of/high Mhz ram makes sense and will benefit you considerably.

Basically what I'm saying is that your needs define the budget. If I want to play Tetris I don't need to buy a 1080. Extreme example but you get my point. So, help us to make our suggestions accurate. :p

You can cut some corners and save up some money if you buy cheaper GPU that will still run things pretty good (AMD RX series for example) and invest money saved in more RAM or better PSU. What Stelthii said, what are your expectations of your future gaming rig? AMD or nVidia? DDR4 or DDR3? That sort of things.

16GB of RAM will be more than enough (keep in mind DDR4 sticks price skyrocketed in the last year or so).

And does your budget include things like a monitor and keyboard and mouse, headset, mousemat etc? If it doesnt incluse any of that, then it allows you for some extra room on some of your hardware specs.

Keep in mind that due to cryptocoin mining, GPU's are the ones that skyrocketed into unholy price ranges the last few months. For decent range Rx cards you are already 300€ down. And that is just very very expensive for a Rx 570.... I've seen the stock Rx 580's go for around 400€..... That is just way too overpriced (like close to 100€ more expensive than normal).

With that knowledge I would prefer going with decent RAM (2133 mhz 8 gb for a simple pc user as he sounds to be would already be enough) instead of 16 gb high mhz, to save up some money for the GPU.

With an ATX mobo he would get enough room to add more RAM later on

Hm, that is a tight budget. Dont expect high-end stuff for 1000€ with current GPU prices and a monitor.I made this build for a friend like a month ago. And he was also on a tight budget (730€). The problem was that he got his GPU fairly cheap, but the GPU's atm are not very cheap...I sure can copy paste his specs.

I picked the Sharkoon 700w so that he has no trouble when switching to a better GPU in the future (that is what he is planning to do). You can probably go with a 600w or even 500w.

You have also a slightly bigger budget (even with monitor). So you can also spend most of the remaining money in a better GPU, something that I would strongly recommend. I made a few adjustments to this build of my friend that might suit you some more.

Ryzen 5 1400 – €166ASUS b350 plus – €85Sharkoon WPM600 – €60Msi Armor rx 570/ ASUS strix rx 570 4 gb – €250WD Blue 1 TB HDD €54Samsung EVO 256 gb SSD €94G. Skill Value F4-2133C15S-4GNT 2x4 GB RAM €72Zalman Z3+ case €45

Total: €817

Or

i5 7400 – €183ASUS B250 PLUS – €88Sharkoon WPM600 – €60Msi Armor rx 570/ ASUS strix rx 570 4 gb – €250WD Blue 1 TB HDD €54Samsung EVO 256 gb SSD €94G. Skill Value F4-2133C15S-4GNT 2x4 GB RAM €72Zalman Z3+ case €45Total: €846

Lets say we pick a SAMSUNG 3-Series S24F356FHU monitor (with AMD freesynch!) for €120 and a Logitech G105 Kyeboard for 50€. The total amount would be €987 for the Ryzen 5 system, and €1016 for the i5 system.

You can drop some coins by picking other SSD's (like the Mushkin Reaktor 240 gb for €85 instead of the 850 EVO, or even other ssd's with only 120 gb of memory), some other GPU’s (cheaper Rx 570’s like ASUS EX-RX570-4G-OC) or maybe even the 500 watt Sharkoon PSU.

If you would pick something like a nvidia 1050 Ti or a 1060 I would recommend picking a different monitor. Paying for freesynch while having a nvidia GPU is not worth your money.

P.s. the RAM is compatible with both motherboards.
